This color blue my mind!
FingerPaints Margritte’s Masterpiece is a vibrant cobalt creme. I believe it may be a neon due to its satin finish and watery texture on the first coat of application. It applies streaky and thin on that first coat, and is opaque by the second coat–although you can see some visible nail line (Nailluminati abbreviate this as VNL) in the picture above on my middle and ring fingers. I’m wondering if a layer of white undies (what the Nailluminati call a first layer of paint to cover VNL–double word score!) would bring out the neon power in this blue!
This is three coats of Margritte’s Masterpiece with one coat of NYC In a New York Color Minute Grand Central Station as a glossy top coat. BEHIND THE PAINT: I used a coat of Yello-Out as a base coat to protect against UV Rays (yellowing) and prevent staining from the rich blue color.
This color is a win, and I’m glad I scored it in a BOGO deal on Sally Beauty last week! It is unique to my collection, very deep and very rich, and I can’t wait to try it over white. I am also interested in comparing it to OPI Umpire Comes Out at Night. The end result of three coats with the glossy top coat reminds me a lot of OPI…Eurso Euro except that color leans more purple or indigo.
