This gorgeous bottle was a gift from Editorial Director of The Cut Stella Bugbee!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Monologue is a rich navy with tons of teal shimmer that makes it look teal itself. It applies smoothly, getting opaque in two coats. It has an almost squishy feel, and with the first layer applying almost translucently it is safe to call this a crelly (Nailluminati term for creme-jelly hybrid). It’s called Monologue because you will be going on and on about it to your friends.

This nail art was inspired by a suggestion from People Stylewatch that recommended perpendicular silver lines over a shimmery navy blue for fall. I used a thin brush, but the metallic Pure Ice Silver Mercedes applied as a thicker streak than I planned, so I left it as a single vertical stripe. I am going to have to work on my technique! The result is a shine-highlight down the middle, not that Monologue needed any help looking glossy!

This about sums it up: A shimmery dark blue is perfect for fall, and don’t be shy about dressing it up with another fall-friendly finish such as a metallic shade! I’m loving it.

Nailluminati status:
Optical Illusion level achieved.
