Diana Broussard DB Creme

Diana Broussard db CREME is a milky, off-white, sheer creme that is perfect for giving your nails a nice, inconspicuous, classy look.

After working for luxury goods companies including Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, and Gucci, Diana Broussard started her own line under her name. I have no idea how much her dbVarnish retails for because it doesn’t seem to be listed on the site anymore. I acquired it from my nail polish party.

Application is a bit streaky but self-levels. Self-leveling is very important to the Nailluminati because visible brush strokes are a punishable offense. For a sheer color it applies very opaque (oxymoron alert), so you get different effects with each coat. Picture Bill Murray’s director in Lost in Translation advising, “More intensity,” between dry times.

Because it’s so lovely to look at, my mannerisms become more dainty (pinkies out while eating Cheetos), and the uniqueness of the brand makes me feel important to own it, which I will heretofore refer to as the Boutique Effect.

This about sums it up: An off-white nail has a special quality without the look-at-me POP of the stark white nail that we enjoyed this past summer. Since you ain’t supposed to wear white after Labor Day, give this look a try.

Nailluminati status: Country Club level achieved.

What’s something you like to splurge on? Let me know in the comments!
